A note on the management of wild game
La Shawn Barber writes:
Hate crime laws are designed to punish the thoughts of white, straight,
Christianmales. [Lest liberals think I'm calling all white males charged with hate crimes "Christians," I decided to strike it from the description.] Only blacks, homosexuals, Hispanics and Muslims (women, too, on a good day) are protected under these laws. I’m black, so I guess I qualify for the skin privilege. My gratitude is gushing all over the place. Really.
Suppose the law imposes a penalty of P for crime C. The law also stipulates an additional penalty AP if the victim is a member of protected group G.
We can restate the law in a mathematically equivalent way: the penalty for crime C is P+AP, unless the victim is not a member of group G, in which case the penalty is reduced by AP.
The criminal is rewarded for preying on those unworthy of the full protection of the law. Happy hunting!
