Poverty is bad, but not as bad as wealth

CARACAS, Venezuela (Reuters) - Buy and sell, wheel and deal, but don’t get rich.
That’s the advice to businessmen from Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez, a self-proclaimed revolutionary who wants to develop a new form of socialism to fight poverty in the world’s No. 5 oil exporter.
“Being rich is bad, it’s bad. People who are rich, who have a lot of money should donate all of that,” Chavez told a conference for small business owners.
A socialism which reduced poverty would indeed be a new form of socialism.
Fortune magazine recently estimated Fidel Castro’s wealth at over half a billion dollars. Hugo, it sounds like your hijo de puta buddy Fidel may be a bad man. Then again, maybe he’s just holding the money for the Cuban people until they get out of prison.
