Truth is stranger than fiction

(PRWEB) - OTTAWA, CANADA (PRWEB) November 24, 2005 — A former Canadian Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister under Pierre Trudeau has joined forces with three Non-governmental organizations to ask the Parliament of Canada to hold public hearings on Exopolitics — relations with “ETs.”

By “ETs,” Mr. Hellyer and these organizations mean ethical, advanced extraterrestrial civilizations that may now be visiting Earth.

Mr. Hellyer went on to say, “I’m so concerned about what the consequences might be of starting an intergalactic war, that I just think I had to say something.”

Hellyer revealed, “The secrecy involved in all matters pertaining to the Roswell incident was unparalled. The classification was, from the outset, above top secret, so the vast majority of U.S. officials and politicians, let alone a mere allied minister of defence, were never in-the-loop.”

Hellyer warned, “The United States military are preparing weapons which could be used against the aliens, and they could get us into an intergalactic war without us ever having any warning. He stated, “The Bush administration has finally agreed to let the military build a forward base on the moon, which will put them in a better position to keep track of the goings and comings of the visitors from space, and to shoot at them, if they so decide.

Very likely God has secretly instructed Bush to make war on the friendly aliens. In other news, a spokesman for the American Federation of Zombies claimed that Karl Rove has stolen the Democrats’ brains, leaving millions of life-force challenged Americans to starve.

  1. It’s a good thing that the “Earth Messages to Other Worlds” spaceship the U.S. sent up some years ago included a recording of Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode”.

“… He could play a guitar just like ringin’ a bell ….” Dat’ll keep da’ peace.

  2. Unless of course the aliens are Bo Diddley fans.

  3. You couldn’t make this stuff up. When I first read about this story, I thought that it was from the Onion.

Of course, politics being what it is these days, about half the time I think the stuff I’m reading is Onion-worthy.

The question that comes to mind is: What does the average Canadian think? Are they embarassed? Do they think that this is an issue whose time has come?

Any Canadians wandering by, please fill us in.

  4. Neil Young is Canadian. In the third verse of the title track from his 1970 album After The Gold Rush, Mr. Young offers us this insight:

    “….
Well, I dreamed I saw the silver
    Space ships flying
In the yellow haze of the sun,
    There were children crying
    And colors flying
    All around the chosen ones.
All in a dream, all in a dream
    The loading had begun.
    They were flying Mother Nature’s
Silver seed to a new home in the sun.
    Flying Mother Nature’s
Silver seed to a new home.”
