to serve and protect
The tone is somewhat breathless, but the facts are what they are. Read the whole thing.
Clad in black, grunting weirdly and trained in terror, America’s police-state death squads are slaughtering innocent people as they replace the normal cops who once served U.S. towns.SWAT teams and their paramilitary cousins have turned the United States into a kingdom of fear where murderous unaccountable goons can and will show up at any time to deliver their particular brand of horror. The bloodthirsty psychotics are so dangerous that their nervous supervisors send them to slaughter deer when human “suspects” are in short supply.
A wealthy suburb of Northern Virginia is still reeling from the killing of a 37-year-old optometrist, Salvatore J. Culosi. The eye doctor was allegedly making football bets with a policeman. A heavily-armed shock squad surrounded his townhouse on the night of January 24. Their mission? Find paperwork showing Culosi had made NFL bets with the policeman. Culosi responded to the raid by peacefully coming outside to see what the SWAT team wanted. That’s when one of the thugs shot him dead.
As always, the lawless stormtroopers offered no apologies.
Libertarian journalist Radley Balko notes, “Meanwhile, in 2004 alone, the Virginia lottery spent $21 million on ‘advertising and marketing’ aimed at persuading its citizens to gamble.”

Please don’t even start with “it’s all Bush’s fault”. Under Clinton’s watch the goons set people on fire. The so-called war on drugs is a bipartisan nightmare that is transforming our cops into thugs. That war is the fault of Bush and Clinton, Congress and the SCOTUS, and of the fifty states. Most of all, it is the fault of the American people who tolerate and even clamor for this travesty of justice.
