The strange case of Goose versus Gander
Democratic Leader Harry Reid, Assistant Democratic Leader Dick Durbin, and Senators Debbie Stabenow, Charles Schumer, and Byron Dorgan have sent a letter to Robert Iger, the President and CEO of The Walt Disney Company (ABC’s parent company). The letter threatens to revoke ABC’s broadcast license if the contents of “The Path to 9/11″ aren’t altered.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t recall any Democrats—or, more to the point, Republicans—demanding that Michael Moore fix the inaccuracies in Fahrenheit 9/11 before its release. What I do remember is a large group of congressional Democrats attending its Washington opening and commenting favorably on it. I also recall the inaccurate Mr. Moore being given a place of honor by being seated next to Jimmy Carter at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Inaccuracies that favor their side evidently don’t bother them.
The hilarious part is that Sandy “Secret Documents Down the Pants” Berger is crying a river. A man whose claim to fame is stealing and destroying classified documents to conceal their content is whining that he is being misrepresented. It is all so, so sad.
