One good turn deserves another

Guys just sharing their appreciation of Mr. Kerry’s joke.

John Derbyshire remarks:

John Kerry is awful, and anything we can do further to degrade his political prospects is worth doing. But really, I saw a clip of him making the much-deplored remark, and it was obvious that the dimwit in Iraq that he referred to was George W. Bush, not the American soldier. It was a dumb joke badly delivered, but his meaning was plain. My pleasure in watching JK squirm is just as great as any other conservative’s, but something is owed to honesty. There’s a lot of fake outrage going round here.

I’m not outraged, I’m amused. But I agree that anything we can do to degrade Kerry’s political prospects is worth doing.

I have to tip my hat to the state of Massachusetts. That is one hell of a pair of senators you have.

  1. Kerry is still under the impression that 50 million Americans voted for him in 2004. The vast majority of those people were voting against Bush, and would have voted for a “yella dog” if it were the dem nominee opposing Bush. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a politician who is so totally out of touch with the common American as Ivy league, condescending, arrogant Senator Kerry.

  2. I may change my mind, but right now, “yella dog” has my vote for President in 2008.

On a more serious note, 60 Minutes last Sunday did a segment on the state-of-the-art military airborne hospitals in Iraq, and the men and women who make them life-saving air ships.

The fact that John Kerry can’t tell jokes and will never be president is not news. The wars in Iraq and Afganistan are.

  3. Well put. Can it be true that I find myself agreeing with you? I better rethink this.

I’m hoping for dem control of at least the House, so they can go forward with their investigations, subpeonas, and impeachment, knowing as the repubs did with Bubba, that they don’t have the votes to convict. It was such a good use of federal government time and money then, and certainly improved America’s overall situation. Two more years of that can only help even more. Its not like there’s anything else going on that they should focus on more, is there? Maybe then the American people will become so fed up with the idiot republicrats that have been running our country that a 3rd party candidtate will have a chance. Maybe, but I’m not holding my breath.

  4. Our editor and ccl have distracted me. There is an important mid-term election on November 7, 2006.

Yo! Oye! My fellow Floridians: Jim Davis deserves your vote next Tuesday for governor. Jim Davis para el gobernador.

Katherine Harris deserves some karmic justice, i.e., retirement from electoral politics by a crushing defeat in her bid for the U.S. Senate. In the Senate race, if you wanna vote for write-in / right-in candidate “yella dog”, that’s cool with me.

  5. Thereis a libertarian option in both of those races and I plan to take it twice. Does Mr. Davis have any executive experience, or does he plan to learn on the job? Please list Nelson’s accomplishments in his first term as senator.

  6. Dear CCL,

If you chose libertarian options in the Florida gubenatorial and senate races, that’s fine with me. Davis or Crist will be the next governor of Florida.

Prior executive experience does not covary with good executive leadership. I endorsed Jim Davis because I know him personally, agree with him on many of his policy positions, and have face-to-face asked him tough questions and seen him deliver A+ answers. I endorsed Jim Davis because I believe it is in the best interest of the state of Florida for him to be our next governor.

I did not endorse Bill Nelson. I don’t need to — he’s going to win a second term in the Senate because Katherine Harris cannot win. All she’s got going for her is name recognition. Even her own political party has not endorsed her candidacy.
