Iraq Surrender Group

  1. If Bush hadn’t blindly rushed into Iraq, he would have more credibility, manpower, money, and support for something that is a viable threat.

The cartoon is merely a reminder not to cry wolf. The handcuffs are his own.

  2. The 20-20 hindsight of the armchair quarterback perfectly complements the belief that what really matters is how got here, not how to move forward. Since Bush’s every action is steeped in the original sin of being Bush, every action is ipso facto blind and illegitimate. The best thing this country can do now is turn the mideast over to Iran. Is that about the size of it?

  3. I didn’t mean to offend with the language. It was meant to reference what I know to be a loved comedy team by the author of this blog, and I also thought it was apropos.

One of the points of the movie, Team America, was that sometimes the United States has to be a “phallic jerk” in order to put some “sphincter-like” dictators in their place. I completely agree with this theory, especially in regard to the situation in Iran.

I don’t think that we should be prevented from attacking Iran if the situation continues to worsen to a breaking point, but it will be far more difficult in light of the Iraq debacle.

My opinion is that Bush is to blame for the hurdles we will face with Iran or any other country we find an imminent threat. I don’t consider this hindsight, since I was part of a large number of people who strongly believed before what we now know to be true.

Regardless of my view, I agree with you that the situation in Iran should not hinge on the flaws of Iraq. However, those who supported Bush and the war should not place the blame of rigorous diplomatic pressures on liberals. You have a mirror to yell at.
